This is where intersectionality came to rise about with revolutionary texts such as This Bridge Called My Back. This form of feminism challenged the falsely proclaimed universal category of woman within Second Wave Feminism and recognized that the status of being a woman did not divulge into merely one category. This form of feminism was against binaristic thinking and involved more race based and gender and sexuality based analysis of feminism as well. It started in around the 1990s and extends to the modern day (Rampton).
