This was a criticism of intersectionality which argued that it relied on static and fixed classifications or categories in which identity was dependent upon these opposing forces such as “homo” and “hetero” or “woman” and “man.” This form of thinking reinforced the notion that power structures affected everyone equally in the same way and that there was a such thing as a universal identity that could be applied to everyone within that classification or category (Marcus).  [Satveer]
