Anarchism is a political philosophy that rejects hierarchical distribution of power. Many anarchists (such as Emma Goldman) were the first to speak out against the mistreatment and oppression of homsexuals before their contemporaries due to its inconsistency with anarchism. Most anarchists are firm anti-capitalist due to the inherent authoritarianism that exists within the workplace and community life.
